Is there anything we can do to help save a part of the natural world?

The destruction of the biosphere is probably about halfway complete as of late 2014. Climate disruption that is already locked in will perturb civilization permanently. Our little luxury consumerist lifestyle is killing the biosphere and humans are not immune to extinction.
